VINTAGE 1800's CIVIL WAR ERA 12" x 16" Mahogany ROPE TENSION SNARE DRUM

$ 184.77

Availability: 30 in stock
  • Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
  • Exact Year: 1866
  • Condition: As you can see from my pictures, this drum looks amazing and would be ideal for a museum!! The original calf skin drumheads, gut snares, and rope tensioning are all original and are surprisingly well preserved. All of the leather stays were rotted with age, so my friend, Jack Lawton, of the Lawton Drum Co., carried out the re-stringing of the rope tensioning cords and was able to hand cut new replacement leather stays. The top and bottom heads are the original calf skin models, but they are very old and are extremely delicate. Jack Lawton also fabricated a new replacement set of rope snares for this drum.
